M.B.Om Podcast | Mastering the Business of Yoga

M.B.Om is a play on "M.B.A", and instead of learning about "administration" (whatever that is!), you will learn about the business of yoga. This podcast was designed for yoga teachers who want to create a successful and sustainable career in yoga, but don't know where to start, or how to take their career to the next level. Each episode features different, successful and inspiring yoga teachers who share their experiences in the yoga world, and the business lessons they have learned throughout their careers. Guests range from full-time yoga teachers, yoga studio owners, teachers who have branched off to create their own businesses, teachers who have developed their own teacher training, and much more.

Anne & Brandon of The Yoga Nomads are back on the podcast and on this episode, we're chatting about becoming a successful yoga teacher. We touch on why it's important for yoga teachers to have a website, ways to focus on creating revenue streams outside of the student, why yoga teachers should never stop learning, and much more.

Anne & Brandon have recently launched their signature course, Create Beautiful Yoga Websites, and we dig into the importance of a website, debunk how creating a website is not actually as hard as many people think, and discuss how having a website can help yoga teachers make more money. If you've been thinking about setting up a website, get the Beginners Guide for Creating a Yoga website here!

Charles Du is a NASA software engineer turned digital nomad turned yoga teacher! Charles discovered his love of yoga only a few months ago after suffering various injuries and quickly turned his love of yoga into his career.

Charles has experience in business and digital marketing, and on this episode, he shares how that has helped to land a resident teaching yoga within the first week of being a yoga teacher, and how he has been able to offer unique offerings, such as beer yoga. We talk about the controversy around beer yoga and how these types of offerings can be offered in an intentional way, as well as his tips for finding a unique offering that excites you.

On September 24th, Charles is launching the Yoga Career Summit, an online summit to help yoga teachers grow their business, and he shares what the process has been like for that, how he has found teachers, and what he has learned along the way.

Welcome back for Season 3 of M.B.Om! I am so excited to kick off this season with an interview with Namastream co-founders Sandy Connery and Jennifer Barcelos. Sandy and Jennifer share how they got into the yoga industry, what inspired them to create Namastream, and what Namastream does for yoga teachers.

In this episode, we chat about the struggles of developing an online software business, as well as what Sandy and Jennifer see the Namastream teachers struggle with when it comes to creating an online business. We touch on imposter syndrome, producing content even though it's not perfect, putting yourself out there, and how to create and market a successful online yoga business.
