This week on the podcast, I am joined by Uma Girish. Uma guides spiritually-minded women who are grieving from loss and helps them cope and hold space for grief. The work she does includes the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, illnesses, empty nest, the loss of a dream, and more.

On this episode, Uma and I talk about the importance of giving yourself space when you are grieving a loss, and how to give yourself that space when you teach yoga or own your own business. As a contractor or self-employed individual, it is so hard to take time off, but when we are grieving, we need to give ourselves time and space to heal.

Uma also shares tips for how we can hold space for students that might be grieving and more.

Enjoy!

Has your yoga studio’s growth become stagnant? If you’re like many studio owners I talk to, you’ve tried every marketing tactic under the sun. You started a blog, you’re posting regularly on all the social media sites, running challenges, sending out newsletters blah blah blah. Long story short, you’re doing a TON of work… and barely paying the bills.

What if there was an easier way? A way to get new students regularly coming through your door without having do work so darn hard to get them there? A Proven system that will consistently bring in 20+ new paying students to your studio each and every month? Well there is…. Ron Medlin and his team at www.getyogastudents.com have developed a 3-step system that will help you quickly grow your yoga studio to 6-figure profits and beyond without being shackled to your business.

This week on the podcast I am very excited to be joined by Veronica Thai from the Curious Monki podcast. Veronica is not only a fellow podcast host, but also a fellow yoga teacher and Albertan! Veronica and I met a few years ago and have had the pleasure of spending time together in person, as well as doing some Desire Map coaching together.

One of the things that inspires me the most about Veronica and her business is that she does everything from a feeling perspective, rather than a thinking perspective. On this episode, we talk about her journey as a yoga teacher, starting a podcast, overcoming imposter syndrome, and how she came to run a heart centered business. Of course, she also shares business lessons that she learned along the way!

Enjoy!

I am very excited to announce a new partnership with Ana Luisa! Ana Luisa is a quality jewelry brand that uses recycled gold to make their products. As a yoga teacher with a new business, I haven't splurged on myself in years. I always end up buying cheap jewelry that doesn't last, and that's why I am so happy that I discovered Ana Luisa! They make pieces for everyday wear and beautiful pieces for all your events. The best part is that they are offering YOU a discount. Head on over to analuisa.com/mbom and treat yourself (because you're worth it!).

This week on the podcast I am joined by Kaya Mindlin. Kaya has been teaching yoga for 18 years, and on this episode she shares how she created a small, but mighty and successful, yoga business.

There is so much pressure these days to build your list, do ads on social media, teach anything and everything that you are given the opportunity to do, serve everyone, give away freebies and hope that some day someone will engage with you. And this has it's place... but it's not a fit for every yoga teacher.

In Kaya's business, she dug a well with a small but incredibly committed number of yoga teachers, and she's had a successful private practice of yoga therapy clients and students, yoga teachers who train with her, and a yoga studio in the Bay Area. She was the main breadwinner in her family for a chunk of those years, and on this episode she's sharing how she did and how you can too!

Kaya also shares why and how she transferred her business online, what that process has taught her, and some of the biggest business lessons she's learned through her career.

Enjoy!

This week on the podcast I am joined by Brit Kolo from Marketing Personalities. After spending years working as a marketing coach, Brit created her own business where she studied the 16 Myers-Briggs (MBTI) personality types and determined what the best marketing strategy is for each of them.

On this episode, Brit and I talk about Marketing Personalities, including why this important, how we can use our individual marketing personality to our benefit in our businesses, and how to start saying "no" to the things we think we should be doing in our businesses but aren't serving us. Brit also goes through my MBTI personality type - ENJF - and gives some examples of the type of marketing that ENFJ's (like me!) should be doing in their businesses.

This was a really eye opening episode for me, and since implementing the strategies of my marketing personality into my business, I've seen a ton of shifts away from the things I think I should be doing and towards the marketing strategies that excite and light me up most.

Enjoy!
